This is My Life

This is the first web site I have ever made.  I really enjoy it and now have done a couple more--one for my classes and one for a group of friends. It definitely is not as easy as it looks.  Take it easy on me but let me know how I can improve it.  Thanks.

I am currently teaching both math and computer classes.  I enjoy it except for having to travel between two different buildings.  It is not fun having my lunch and prep period changed either!  Oh, the life of a teacher.  Geometry has been a lot of fun to teach this year and I have some great kids.

I work and play a lot with the Pocket PC.  I have become so involved with this that I volunteer a lot for Computer User Groups.  I've done numerous presentations on the Pocket PC and SmartPhone. I have also done presentations on making PowerPoint Presentations and I'm currently working on one on how to make a simple web site. Now, if I could just get paid for doing this!  As a result of my interest, I've a part time job where I help train people that go out in the field and work with the public and the Windows Mobile devices.  This has been very rewarding.  My current goal in this area is to meet Bill Gates and to become a Microsoft MVP.  Who knows, maybe someone will notice me and I'll get this honor!  It is for one year and you need to keep on contributing to the computer industry and knowledge base to receive the award again.

In November of 2002 I won a contest put on by Microsoft and the Mindshare division.  I won a Tablet PC and a trip for two to New York City for the launch of the Tablet PC.  That was a totally awesome experience. I have also been to Texas a couple of times for training on my favorite devices.

Karl and I see to be traveling more and more lately.  We just got back from a weekend in Seattle. I do wish I had more time as I was in meetings and not able to see the sites I wanted to see.

Karl and I had a wonderful vacation a year ago. We went up to Napa Valley and toured the wineries, saw Old Faithful, and even visited the Jelly Belly factory!  The highlight of the trip was eating at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America). It is located in an old winery and is truly beautiful.  The food was unbelievable and definitely worth a repeat performance.  Check out the Picture Gallery for pictures.

We have finished the remodeling in our house.  We now have beautiful countertops in our kitchen and brand new appliances.  We also painted and used a color that is completely different for me.  I really like it and it definitely made our house modernized. Instead of carpeting we put in flooring. It is nice and it is easy to keep clean.  That was the one thing I was worried about.

My pride and joy is my family.  I have a wonderful husband, three children, and two stepchildren.  My middle son recently was married and now I can add a charming daughter-in-law to my family.  I'm truly blessed.  Look at my photos to see!
