Washington DC

I just came back from the NEA Convention in Washington DC.  What a blast! It was a privilege to attend with other members of the Corona-Norco Unified School District.  In addition to attending the California Caucus we also attended the NEA portion where we voted on different issues and made stands as to how we believed.  With more than 10,000 teachers in the convention center it was not quiet.  We had Hilary Clinton speak to us in person and John Kerry and John Edwards through satellite. Sleep was a rare concept during my stay. I, of course, was able to visit many of the sites.

Washington Monument

This picture was taken just as the sun was going down. I was fortunate that it turned out as nicely as it did.

World War II Memorial

This had just been dedicated prior to us being in Washington DC. It was absolutely beautiful.

NEA Convention

A few of the delegates from Corona-Norco.

Elizabeth and I

Elizabeth is from Corona High School and a brand new delegate.

The Smithsonian

It was fun to be with all the First Ladies.

The Musuem

I found this to be interesting and something different than the norm that I saw.

The Convention

A crowd shot.

Dinner

We all were able to go out to dinner together. A fun time was had by all--in addition to wonderful food.

Where Lincoln Died

This is on the steps of the house where President Lincoln died. The Ford Theatre was directly across from it.

The Smithsonian Institute

I thought this was a beautiful area and could have easily just stayed for hours. To bad it was raining.

A Church Door

Again, just a beautiful location in Washington DC

Panda Bear

They had 150 of these throughout the city. They were all painted differently and were going to be auctioned off for a fund raiser. They were promoting the zoo and the Panda bears that were on loan
